Blogging
Please see the link on my site for evidence of my understanding of how blogs work http://jackw-ictshowcase.weebly.com/blog.html.
I have observed how blogging can be used effectively to engage learners. At the end of each day, for example, pupils will upload a piece of their work and write about what they did to achieve success. I believe that pupils will have a stronger sense of ownership of their learning if they know it will be available for everyone and anyone to see. Pupils will feel as if their writing has a real purpose. Pupil's can also comment on each other's work enabling the Wiki to be used in peer assessment.
As with any work or writing that pupils will post online, it is vital that it is moderated and that appropriate action is taken place if any pupils post something inappropriate. It is important to remind pupils, each time they blog, to remember that anybody can see what you are posting and that there are serious consequences for doing anything inappropriate online
