Pathway Placement - Reflection
I decided to follow the inclusion pathway over any of the individual subject pathways was because I believe that inclusion is such an important issue that is always being addressed in schools. The purpose of the pathway was to carry out a small scale study on either on, whole school inclusion or how a particular pupil with S.E.N. was included in the mainstream school. I choose to carry out the study on a year 4 pupil who had been diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1).
The findings of my study will be written up into a 6000 word assignment and for that reason, this reflection will be shorter than the others. I have also collected my findings and produced a toolkit on helping to include children with NF-1 into the school and classroom. This 'Teacher's Toolkit' will hopefully aid those working with NF-1 pupils to promote inclusion in their teaching and learning.
